Lama Jampa – Retreat Course with 3 Nyung Nehs and additional Empowerment

A Nyung Neh retreat is a Buddhist practice, which helps to purify negative imprints in the mind (Karma) and to build up merit and wisdom at the same time. For one Nyung Neh 2 1/2 days of practice are needed, for which one takes vows, that include being silent, fasting, generating the attitude of a Bodhisattva and reciting the puja of the 1000-armed Chenrezig, the Buddha of compassion. During this course Lama Jampa will guide us through 3 Nyung Nehs; but it is also possible to participate in just one.

 Lama Jampa is Tibetan and comes originally from Yangpachen, the seat of the Shamarpas in Tibet. For many years already he is living and teaching in the USA, where he always kept a very close contact with Shamar Rinpoche until Rinpoche passed away. Lama Jampa touches by his kind and loving attitude, which is deeply rooted in the Dharma. Everybody who saw him during the filling process of the Stupa for Shamar Rinpoche, was deeply moved.

Schedule
Begin: Easter Sunday evening, April 20th at 20.00h with instructions. The entire course ends on Sunday, April 27th, either in the morning (after the 3rd Nyungne) or after the initiation at around lunch time.
Monday: Start with the practice, which includes recitation, prostrations and meditation. This day there will be breakfast and lunch. No dinner this day, just beverages.
Tuesday: Fasting, which means the whole day is dedicated to the practice. No food, no drinks, no talking. (This day is carried by the practice and is not comparable to ‘normal’ fasting days).
from Wednesday morning 5am drinks are allowed again and with the following practice session the 1st Nyungne-cycle is concluded.
Directly afterwards the 2nd one will start, so: breakfast and lunch, no dinner but beverages.
Thursday: Fasting day, like Tuesday, see above
Friday morning: end of the 2nd Nyungne-cycle and begin of the 3rd one.
Saturday: Fasting day, like Tuesday, see above
Sunday: End of the 3rd Nyung Neh Cycle.
Afterwards at 10am Lama Jampa will give an empowerment to the 1000-armed Chenrezi! This is open to all, also to those who didn’t participate in the course.

For this course it is also possible to just join for some hours. According to Lama Jampa every participation is beneficial, even if you don’t join the course at all but help preparing the meals, thus supporting the practitioners, it is very meritorious! Fees
– for the entire course without empowerment: € 180 / red. € 140 (valid for supporting members, students, unemployed, pensioners)
– for just the first Nyung Ne, Sunday evening – Wednesday morning: € 70 / red. € 55, or
– for just the third Nyung Ne, Wednesday morning – Sunday morning: € 70 / red. € 55
– for the empowerment: € 20 / red. € 15
