Training the mind, discovering its nature – a meditation retreat

Mind Training (tib. Lojong) is a practice to unfold our true nature, Buddha nature. This is because it encompasses essential aspects of our path: cultivating compassion, stabilizing inner calmness and gaining deep insight into mind’s true nature. The way in which Shamar Rinpoche taught Mind Training focusses on the inseparable union of these aspects. Rinpoche emphasized, for example in his book ‘The Path to Awakening‘, that this practice enables us to proceed througout the entire path of awakening. On the basis of his books on Lojong and Mah?mudr? this short retreat offers the possibility to delve into the practice of Lojong, to learn and or deepen it, by following Shamar Rinpoche’s words: „Understand that there is no activity in life, which is more valuable than meditation.“ In order to maintain a supportive framework, we will spend these days mostly in silence. We will start on Thursday evening at 8pm with an introduction. Friday‘s and Saturday’s schedule can be found below and the course will end on Sunday at lunch time.
